Floating fundraiser.
In this week’s Throwback Thursday poll, Soaps.com goes back to 1982 on “General Hospital” when Rick Webber had the idea to use Luke Spencer’s Haunted Star for a charity benefit to help keep the Port Charles Community Sports Center open…
A disaster was averted on the Haunted Star when Sonny Corinthos saved half of Port Charles from a bomb planted at Michael Quartermaine’s riverfront revitalization fundraiser. This isn’t the first time the ship has been the setting for a charity affair, except back then nobody’s life was in danger.
Rick Webber wanted to save the Community Sports Center from demolishment and Luke Spencer agreed for The Haunted Star to be the location of the event. During the fundraiser, Joe and Rose Kelly sang an Irish song, Tiffany Hill performed a ballad just as her love Noah Drake returned from a trip, and after Bryan Phillips and his father Eddie reconciled, Eddie agreed to perform too. Blackie Parrish opened his number on the drums with Eddie on the piano, but after the number Eddie almost collapsed backstage. He managed to get through the rest of the event and after his final song he got a standing ovation.
Unfortunately, Eddie died from cancer not long after. Do you remember what member of the Rat Pack played Eddie? Vote in our “GH” poll:
