One year ago Genie Francis was named an ambassador for Nutrisystem, which had helped her lose the weight she had struggled with for years. Now Francis has revealed that she has lost 40 pounds and feels like she has a new lease on life.

“Dieting began for me at such a young age,” Francis explains. “When I was 14, they put my character Laura on a diet. It set off a whole pattern for me with crazy starvation dieting. Nutrisystem is livable and for once I am not suffering or starving myself to achieve my weight loss goals. The best thing about the program is that I’m more at peace with food than I have ever been in my lifetime.”

Francis plans to stay with Nutrisystem and wants to lose even more weight. Congratulations to Francis on her achievement!

“General Hospital’s” Genie Francis (Port Charles’ ex-Laura Spencer) has revealed that she’s lost 30 pounds since last September thanks to Nutrisystem. Francis has been named a new ambassador for the company and will appear in upcoming Nutrisystem commercials beginning in mid-February.

Francis has struggled with food and weight for much of her life. In 2013 she turned to food for comfort after the death of her sister Shelly. Francis has lost weight before, but notes that she resorted to extreme diets to do so. Francis says of the Nutrisystem plan, “The good thing about Nutrisystem is that I’m more at peace with food.”

Francis is proud of her progress and motivated to keep going on her weight loss journey. She hopes to lose another 20 pounds and invites others to join her on her weight loss journey and #pledgetolose on Nutrisystem’s Facebook page. Francis joins a cast of other highly relatable brand ambassadors who have successfully lost weight with Nutrisystem including Marie Osmond (“Dancing With the Stars”), Melissa Joan Hart (“Melissa and Joey”) and Soleil Moon Frye (“Punky Brewster”). Nutrisystem, Inc. is a Philadelphia-based weight loss industry leader, having helped millions of people lose weight over the course of more than 40 years.
