Throwback Thursday GH Poll: Legitimate Business?
“There’s not a company in the world big enough for the both of us.” – Luke to Laura
We jump back to Port Charles in 1980 prior to one of the biggest Cassadine storylines ever on “General Hospital” when the Quartermaine family was the only game in town.
Ned’s enduring the torture of watching Luke get cozy at the ELQ headquarters under the less-than-watchful eye of his mother Tracy Quartermaine. Luke may not have had a cushy office back in the day, but he did work for the Quartermaines…a bit before Tracy’s time, and suffered professional differences with his coworkers then, as well.
In the autumn of 1980, Edward and his niece Alexandria joined forces to team up with the Cassadanes in a money making venture dealing with the manufacturing and distribution of synthetic diamonds but the Cassadines had an agenda of their own, mostly world domination at the hands of Mikkos. Luke was hired to assist the Quartermaines in finding the Cassadines who ran off with the Ice Princess. After fearing he was being followed and questioning if ELQ was a legitimate business, Luke’s loyalty started to waiver. On top of all that, he was further annoyed by the discovery that Laura Webber Baldwin was employed by ELQ. The two each thought that they had had enough of each other after their first adventure. Despite the tension that could be cut with a knife, it was only a matter of time before Luke and Laura would be on their next adventure.
When Luke was first offered the job at ELQ he was hesitant to oblige the request. Do you remember why he nearly balked at the opportunity? Vote in Soaps.com’s Throwback Thursday Poll to tell us the reason you suspect he was put off.
