Ex-GH’s Chris Robinson Loses $100,000 On Beanie Babies
Former “GH” star Chris Robinson (ex-Rick Webber) invested $100,000 in Beanie Babies and ended up losing it all. Robinson began collecting Beanie Babies in the 1990s in an effort to finance his children’s college education but did not know that the stuffed creatures were worth so much to fans of the collecting craze. In a 2009 short film documentary, “Bankrupt by Beanies,” produced by his son, Robinson comments on losing the $100,000. “This is like admitting to a drug addiction,” Robinson states, “you want to forget it.”
Chris Robinson first joined “General Hospital” in 1976 as Dr. Rick Webber, the adoptive father of Laura Webber Spencer Baldwin (Genie Francis). Rick had an affair with Dr. Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) in 1979. The character is remembered for having taken a toll on the sanity of Laura Webber after she accidentally killed a young nurse, Theresa Carter (Alicia Arden), who Rick was having an affair with. Rick Webber was killed in 2002 when Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) was defending Laura against her adoptive father. He recently appeared as a part of the “General Hospital” 50th Anniversary in a dream sequence of Monica and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) in April.
Robinson also played the character of Jack Hamilton on “The Bold and The Beautiful” from May of 1992 to June of 2005. He has also starred in episodes of television shows such as “Fantasy Island,” “Hotel,” “Murder She Wrote” and “12 O’Clock High” throughout the years.
