The new show has been renamed "Hollywood Heights" and has cast former "GH" actor James Franco (ex-Franco), as well as former "Days of our Lives" actor Cody Longo, (ex-Nicholas) and previously reported "One Life To Live's" Brittany Underwood (ex-Langston), who will be the show's main star, Loren. Telenovela star Carlos Ponce will play Eddie's (Cody Longo) father.

"General Hospital's" former executive producer Jill Farren Phelps is teaming up with Hisham Abed ("The Hills") to co-executive produce "Reach for a Star" for Nickelodeon. Josh Griffith, who has held writing positions at "General Hospital," "As the World Turns," "The Young and the Restless" and others," will serve as head writer.
"Reach for a Star" is an adaptation of the Mexican Telenovela "Alcanzar una Estrella." The series revolves around a teenage girl who finds success as a songwriter and wins the love of her teen idol.
Nickelodeon has ordered 80 episodes of the series with production to begin in Los Angeles in March. The single camera, daily series will premiere late this year during Nickelodeon's nighttime block for families Nick at Night.
