Aspiring actors take note – General Hospital’s Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine) is offering a new workshop called “Discover Me!” in which you can learn from his experiences as a working actor in Los Angeles. Talent representative Ric Beddingflield and acting coach Taylor Sheridan have partnered with Tyler to create the Hollywood Talent Group which will, for starters, offer a seminar unlike anything out there. The first workshop for aspiring actors is set to take place on July 26 and 27 at the Governor’s Comedy Club in Levittown, New York. Participants will benefit from auditions, critiques, and an informative Q&A session.

I spoke with Tyler about this exciting new enterprise for him and he was happy to give more information:

Julie: How did Levittown, NY become the first city in the series?

Tyler: We started there because I have a relationship with the owners of the venue and the market for General Hospital is really big in that area.

Julie: The official press release states that you will “discuss life as an actor in LA.” Care to share the gist of what your discussion might include?

Tyler: My involvement in the seminar will include my life experiences as an actor in Hollywood for the last 13 years. For example, “how I would have done things differently if I had to do it all over again.” I’ll go over everything from making the “big move” to getting your first job.

Julie: I see that one of the unique features of the seminar is that attendees will have the opportunity to audition in front of you. I would think that people would be scared silly to audition in front of you guys, but it’s too good of an opportunity to pass up, right?

Tyler: There probably will be a lot of nerves but hey, welcome to Hollywood.

The word is that Ric Beddingfield is looking for new clients and “Discover Me!” is a great way to find untapped talent. He is known for finding and developing new talent and has helped launch the careers of young actors such as Freddie Prinze Jr., Josh Hutcherson (Polar Express & Bridge to Terabithia), and Eric Zamanda (CSI). As an acting coach, Taylor Sheridan has worked with Ali Larter (Legally Blonde, Heroes), Maggie Grace (Lost) and Odette Yustman (October Road).

And no one who visits needs an introduction to yummy (and talented!) Tyler Christopher. His tormented Nikolas Cassadine is one of the reasons we watch GH in the first place. The cost for the two-day workshop is $179. hopes that all involved break a leg, or at the very least come out of it more informed, inspired and ready to move forward with their acting career.
