In response to our inquiry regarding this matter, a rep for ABC tells Soaps.com, “‘General Hospital’ remains a part of our line-up and we don’t discuss the terms of our deals.”

Daytime Confidential is reporting that “General Hospital” may soon become an online soap opera. According to the outlet’s sources, in addition to Prospect Park obtaining All My Children and “One Life To Live,” the company has also struck a deal for the rights to “General Hospital” once it ends its run on ABC. There is no official word on when or if that will happen, but with Katie Couric’s Daytime show heading to ABC in the fall of 2012, there is fear she will replace the network’s last remaining soap opera.

Reps for ABC and Prospect Park have yet to respond to Soaps.com’s request for comment, but we will keep you posted when we hear something. Would you watch “General Hospital” online? Vote and comment below.
