Jacklyn Zeman’s Final General Hospital Airdate Revealed

Turns out, we didn’t even know we were seeing Jacklyn Zeman on General Hospital for the last time when we did. The actress, who passed away at age 70 on May 10, appeared in her final episode of the ABC soap on April 27, our sister site TVLine reports.
During the hour — recapped here — you’ll recall that Zeman’s Bobbie attended the nuptials of grandson Michael and his leukemia-stricken sweetheart, Willow. Presumably, the show will at some point address the beloved vet’s death on screen in much the way that it paid tribute to Sonya Eddy by holding a memorial for her character, Epiphany.

New Jersey native Zeman began her daytime career on One Life to Live in 1976. A year later, she was offered roles on both Ryan’s Hope and General Hospital, and chose the latter soap because the pay was better. In her 45-year run as Port Charles’ hooker-turned-nurse, the actress was nominated for a Daytime Emmy four times.
Among the members of her soap family sharing their fond memories of Zeman was on-screen brother Anthony Geary (ex-Luke), who told TVLine that in all the years that they worked together, “I never heard Jackie express an unkind word about anyone, ever. In a highly competitive profession where ego, feelings and emotions are bread and butter, I’ve found this quality to be extremely rare.
“I expect it will be even more rare now that dear Jackie is gone,” he added. His full statement is included in our photo gallery of stars sharing fond memories of the soap legend; click here to read it.
