There’s no end, we’re sure to the folks who want to say goodbye to General Hospital’s beloved Sonya Eddy since her passing back in December. Her unexpected death struck a blow to friends, family and fans alike. It’s why the show’s airing a special episode on March 29 to pay tribute to the actress who gave us Epiphany for over 16 years.

And now, it seems, the show has added someone very special indeed to that episode. Yvette Nicole Brown, TVInsider reports, is set to appear on March 29 to pay tribute to her dear friend, Eddy. There’s no news yet on what her role might be, but the show is set to honor both actress and nurse Epiphany, so Brown could be appearing as herself or a character — if not both.

Though known mostly for comedies like Community, the actress also made a few appearances on The Young and the Restless as a reporter named Lois back when she was on another CBS show, The Odd Couple. Her last appearance there, though, was back in 2017, when Lois and Neil attended the opera with a number of Genoa City’s finest.

This return to daytime is for a far sadder occasion, as Brown says farewell to her friend of almost 20 years.

“I first met Sonya Eddy back in 2003 when we both were testing for the sitcom The Big House,” Brown wrote back when she first learned the news of her friend’s passing. “From that moment on she became a dear friend of mine.”

We’ll have to wait and see what happens on March 29, but we’re sure wherever she is, Eddy will be looking down with a gentle smile to see one of her dear friends visiting her “home” in Port Charles.
