General Hospital Recruits Grey’s Anatomy Fave for a Very Special Occasion

The 60th anniversary news just keeps on rolling out for General Hospital and we couldn’t be more excited! This time it’s tied both to one of the show’s most beloved traditions and another ABC staple, Grey’s Anatomy! Our sister site TVLine is reporting that Chandra Wilson will be making her return to General Hospital to once again host the Nurses Ball Red Carpet. She won’t, though, be popping in as Dr. Miranda Bailey, but reprising her role as WXPC fashion editor Sydney Val Jean!
This isn’t, of course, her first time with the gig, as Wilson’s Val Jean first hosted the carpet back in 2019 with Nina (then played by Young & Restless‘ Michelle Stafford). Little did we know, that would be one of the last Nurses Balls for a couple years!

But even that wasn’t megafan Wilson’s first appearance on the ABC soap! She started in 2014 as a patient of Kevin’s, Tina Estrada. When she returned four years later in 2018, she’d moved up a bit in the medical field, playing Dr. Linda Massey, a therapist who was counseling Stella, Curtis and Jordan.
The Nurses Ball, we know, kicks off the week of April 3, while the show’s official 60th Anniversary is on April 1. Though since that falls on a Saturday, the show’s planned the celebration out around that, with the milestone beginning with a special episode honoring the late Epiphany, Sonya Eddy on March 29.
TVLine has some exclusive photos of this year’s Red Carpet and Wilson hosting it, so be sure to head on over to check them out! The gowns this year are looking downright stellar!
