General Hospital May Have Just Cast the Character Who’ll Usher [Spoiler] Off the Show

Back in August, we received confirmation that General Hospital’s Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) would be exiting the ABC soap by the end of 2022 and would be reprising her role as Eva Vasquez on the network’s primetime hit Station 19. Well, the latest casting might have a hand in helping to coax the character off the Port Charles canvas, as Sharon Omi has joined the show as Dr. Talone, which was reported in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest.
So, where will Omi’s character fit into the mix? Viewers can expect to see the medical expert very soon in scenes with Britt and Austin, who Britt recently confided in. Austin noticed something wasn’t right and had confronted Britt about her symptoms and wanted to run tests, which led to her revealing that she had Huntington’s Disease. He then reminded her that since she was in the beginning stages, there were things out there to help.
Being a doctor herself, Britt already knew this but Austin wouldn’t give up. He urged her to open up and allow those who love her to be there during this time and again reminded his colleague that advances were being made in medicine every day.

Dr. Talone will likely guide Britt into the next step to get the help she needs — outside of Port Charles — which could play into how the character leaves the canvas. Though Omi has turned up in numerous primetime and films roles, this appears to be her first stint in daytime and we look forward to seeing her on the soap.
