Sometimes, when everything seems to be going right, that’s when we get the most nervous waiting to be blindsided with bad news. And that seems to be what’s happening with fans when it comes to Carly!

Just when we finally get her back in Port Charles and out of Florida, she and Drew decide to try making a go of it and Willow begins the search for her family — which is sure to be a problem for Michael’s mom — now there’s talk of Laura Wright leaving?!

Say it ain’t so!

Actually, now that we think about it, it does seem like there could be a storm or two brewing that could have dire consequences for Carly. But would that be enough to run her out of town? Or worse, kill her??

Wright shared a clip teasing Esme’s secret return getting out (thank you, Liz!) and Carly filling Josslyn in on what’s going on. Wright captioned it, “Oh yeah. Carly’s back,” but apparently, that just got fans attention and had some wondering how long it would last.

After all, where Esme’s concerned, death is certainly not out of the question. We could easily see how all it would take is one false move for Carly to end up in her crosshairs as she tries to protect Josslyn!

Viewer Rhonda Morris tweeted directly to Wright herself in response to the teaser, writing that she loves the actress’ portrayal as Carly but there’s a rumor that’s going around that she’s leaving General Hospital. “Is it true?”

“No, I’m not leaving,” Wright replied within minutes. “Not sure why people keep spreading rumors.”

That, as you can imagine, earned waves of relief from fans excited that she wasn’t going anywhere.

Though the actress does have a valid point. How do these crazy rumors ever get started? And why? Well, some things we may just never no. For now, being grateful this one was false will have to be enough!
