It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane… Wait, Was That General Hospital’s Josh Kelly Making One of the More Memorable Entrances in Soap History?

Earlier last month news came that One Life to Live fave Josh Kelly (ex-Cutter) had landed a role on General Hospital. Back then, our sister site, Deadline, had reported that his character “will greatly affect the lives of Sam, Dante and Britt.”

Well, in the Wednesday, June 1, episode, fans got their first glimpse at Kelly as his character jumped out of a plane — literally — and skydived straight into the Metro Court’s pool — shirtless — at the Society Set-Ups mixer. But that’s not all, he collided with Britt, took her into the pool with him then announced, “What a way to make an entrance Port Charles!”

How’s that for a grand soap arrival?! Given that Kelly served three tours in Afghanistan, as well as one in Iraq, as an Army Ranger, skydiving is right up his alley.

Though there was no information as of Wednesday surrounding his character, back when the news of Kelly’s return to ABC daytime surfaced, the role sounded an awful lot like Jason, previously played by Steve Burton. As everyone knows, Jason was presumed dead after a tunnel collapse while he was trying to save Drew and not long after, Monica had him legally declared dead.

So, what do you think is in store for this mysterious stranger? Well, it was later revealed, on Thursday, June 2, that his name is Cody Bell — and he’s a childhood friend of Dante’s. Stay tuned!
