Fan Fave’s General Hospital Return Just Might Deliver the New Couple We’ve Been Waiting For

When is a reappearance more than a mere reappearance? As General Hospital fans are about to be reminded, when it comes with some tantalizing story to boot.
The week of May 2, Michael E. Knight pops up again on ABC’s one and only daytime drama as Martin Grey. And it sounds like the show has big plans for Laura’s half brother. “Martin returns to Port Charles,” co-headwriter Dan O’Connor tells Soap Opera Digest, “and he must choose between his friendship with Valentin and his budding relationship with Lucy.”
“Or,” chimes in co-headwriter Chris Van Etten, “you could say [he must] choose between love and money!”
Viewers — us included — have been champing at the bit since December to see the soap capitalize on the chemistry between the Emmy winner and Lynn Herring. And we can’t deny that it tickles us to no end, the idea of legendary scamp Lucy being paired with the actor who brought to life All My Children’s infamous “Tad the Cad” Martin.
Had a lot of fun with this 😜 Santa!😍 https://t.co/c6e2qceVJj

You’ll recall that since the Pine Valley-set sudser concluded, Knight passed through The Young and the Restless as Simon Neville, an underutilized love interest for Eileen Davidson’s Ashley. In 2019, he made his first appearance on General Hospital — and made such an impression, as he always does, that his character was given family ties, not only to the nefarious Cyrus Renault but to the show’s premier heroine, Laura.
