After Fox Entertainment’s ad-supported streaming service Tubi announced that Nicholas Alexander Chavez had been cast as one of the leads in Crushed, General Hospital viewers naturally wondered: Did that mean that he would be leaving his role of Spencer?
Happily, the answer is, in a word, no. On March 10, the fan favorite sent out a reassuring tweet that made clear that “it’s a feature, so I’m not going anywhere, ya’ll.”

Whew! Now that we can all exhale, what’s the movie about? It tells the unrequited-love story of a hopelessly romantic teenager who has a crush on a cute high-school classmate played by you-know-who. As she moves heaven and earth to get boo’d up with him on their senior class trip, things… erm… don’t go exactly as planned, and chaos ensues.
Rising star Chavez is “so excited for Crushed,” he said, adding that we should all “get ready to see a character that is nothing like Spencer.”
Can’t wait. The movie is slated to drop this April. In the meantime, it will be fun to see how — or should we say if? — Spencer can get himself freed from the increasingly tangled web that girlfriend Esme is weaving (and if our theory proves true about an alliance in the offing).
