General Hospital’s Maurice Benard Reveals the Return of an Actor With a Very Familiar Face

Back in January, we reported that General Hospital’s Maurice Benard (Sonny) had shared an Instagram story featuring a past photo with his son Joshua and the question: “Is someone coming to General Hospital?”
Since then, there had been no official confirmation that Joshua would be making another return to the ABC soap. However, on Tuesday, March 8, Benard tweeted a video of his son playing guitar and singing the Elvis Presley classic “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and stated, “Somebody close to me told me that Joshua Benard is going to be on General Hospital on March 16.

It wouldn’t be the first time Joshua has appeared on his father’s soap. Back in November 2018, he played a young Sonny in the standalone episode where Sonny had a dream of what his life would have been like had he made different choices. In the scene, a young Sonny shot Vincent Marino in 1985 on Scully’s orders.
The question is, how would he fit into the canvas now? Well, the teen scene is pretty prominent these days and the latest General Hospital spoilers indicate that on Wednesday, March 16, Josslyn takes part in a study session that doesn’t go as planned. Could Joshua be involved in that scene?
Or, will he once again step into his father’s shoes as a young Sonny? Maybe he’ll even turn up alongside his pops. We’ll have to stay tuned to find out.
For now, we invite our readers to look through a gallery featuring photos of other soap stars and their real-life kids.
