General Hospital Vet Reclaims His Role… to Pick Up a Certain Dropped Plot?
General Hospital is about to get Réal with Taggert — as in Réal Andrews. On February 14, the actor, who first appeared on the ABC soap in 1996, shared to Instagram a video of a script for the show and announced — to the tune of AC/DC’s classic “Back in Black” — that “Taggert is back.”
Though Andrews is the actor most closely associated with the character, he was also played by All My Children alum (and future Six Feet Under star) Mathew St. Patrick and, most recently — as recently as last week, as a matter of fact — Asante Jones.
Perhaps now that Andrews is checking in again, General Hospital will finally finish the story it began telling so long ago — the one that has led many a viewer, us included, to suspect that Trina’s father isn’t actually Taggert but Curtis, the long-ago love with whom the teen’s mom Portia recently rekindled a romance. (Read our full theory here — it holds water; we checked.)
In addition to his stints on General Hospital, Andrews has popped up on Days of Our Lives and As the World Turns, and amassed enough primetime gigs to fill two IMDb pages. The Canadian-born father of three has been married to wife Michele for 22 years this November.
