The Big Move That Forced General Hospital to Recast a Beloved Character

Those who watched yesterday’s September 28, General Hospital episode, may have noticed that little Wiley appeared to have grown a bit bigger overnight. Well, your eyes weren’t deceiving you — SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) has hit Port Charles again! The role, which was recently played by twins Erik and Theo Olson, is now being taken over by Kyler and Caleb Ends, who once played David Ridgeway on Days of Our Lives, as well as Maxie and Nathan’s son James in 2019.

However, there’s a story behind the recast, as the Olson twins’ mom explained, “I have been dreading the day I would have to write this as I know how many of you dearly love the boys and wanted them to grow up on GH. My husband got an amazing opportunity that required us to move to Paris, France. With only three months to sell everything, pack up and go, we had to say goodbye to this once in a lifetime opportunity.” She expressed her deepest thanks to fans for following “along on their acting journey,” as well as to the “incredible show!”
Castmate Parry Shen (Brad) posted a photo with the twins and said, “There was no way I was gonna let [Erik and Theo] relocate to France this summer without seeing them for one last time,” and expressed how much he’s going to miss the “extraordinarily well behaved, delightful and charming kiddos.” Of course, he’ll never forget the baby switch storyline and stated, “Although I feel like I’m losing ‘em all over again, I’m so grateful the GH baby switch storyline brought us all together and those memories are now forever preserved in TV history.”
We wish the boys and their family the very best in Paris and look forward to watching Kyler and Caleb in the role, which they are “so excited” to be playing.
