As Her General Hospital Exit Sinks In, Briana Nicole Henry Reflects On the Send-Off That Left Her ‘Quite Literally Shaken’: ‘The Tears You Saw Were Real Tears’
For those who watched yesterday’s General Hospital episode, you may have suspected that we wouldn’t be seeing Jordan for a while, and now her portrayer, Briana Nicole Henry, has confirmed that she is leaving the ABC soap.
In a lengthy Instagram post, the actress shared, “I decided it was time for me to move on from General Hospital and I got nothing but love and support from everyone involved.”
In Jordan’s final scene, it was revealed that she had suffered kidney damage and was having renal failure, therefore had to be sent to a specialty clinic in Albany for dialysis and treatment until she recovered. In reflecting on her final Port Charles moments, Henry expressed, “[I] was given the most beautiful send off that left me quite literally shaken.”
In terms of how she felt ending her time in the role, she stated, “It wasn’t until yesterday that it really sank in, as I watched Jordan’s goodbye to her family and knew the tears you saw were real tears between not just colleagues but friends.”
She went on to thank her soap family, that “helped me make GH my home over the last three years,” as well as her fans and recalled, “It took me a while to win you over, but once you saw my heart you made me feel so much love. I hope I brought something unique and honest to your beloved character of Jordan Ashford, she’s one helluva woman.”
