Though Stacy Haiduk is doing a bang-up job at Days of our Lives, where she’s playing both Kristen DiMera and Susan Banks, Young & Restless should work out some kind of time share with the NBC soap that would allow her to return as Jack’s ex-fiancée, whose face was the inspiration for Patty Williams’ extreme makeover.
Sparks flew when Jack met Rey Rosales’ beautiful mother. All it would take to turn them into real fireworks would be for her to decide that she’s had enough of the Miami heat and return to Genoa City to warm Jack’s bed. Plus, how wild would it be to see All My Children doctors Cliff Warner and Maria Santos in a romance?
Maybe we’re in the minority, but we adored Jack’s shocking fling with his saucy onetime stepmother. And if a reevaluation — and potentially a deepening — of their feelings brought her back to the Abbott mansion, and screen gem Judith Chapman back to the frontburner, we’d be as happy as Victor Newman crushing an enemy.
We know, we know — she’s happily hitched to Michael Baldwin. But “happy” is a one-way ticket to the backburner. We’d much prefer to see her home life get shaken up when a renewed attempt at matchmaking resulted in her realizing that the woman who’s actually perfect for her old friend, Jack… is her!
Perhaps what Jack needs is a clean slate, a brand-new woman, one who could get to know the man that he is now without concerns about the cad that he once was. And perhaps that woman could just happen to resemble Kristian Alfonso, who, even as she was announcing her departure from Days of our Lives, was making it plain that she wasn’t giving up acting. We can see it… can you?
