Here Comes Trouble

This season will see Beth (Kelly Reilly) becoming chief of staff for the newly-elected governor of Montana… who also happens to be her dad. Something tells us the political world isn’t quite ready for her!
This season will see Beth (Kelly Reilly) becoming chief of staff for the newly-elected governor of Montana… who also happens to be her dad. Something tells us the political world isn’t quite ready for her!
Given that his adoptive dad stole the election out from under him, something tells us the smile Jamie (Wes Bentley) has plastered on his face is as fake as any claim he might make to love his sister, Beth.
John (Kevin Costner) is now the most powerful man in the state of Montana. But will that be enough to help him save the ranch his family calls home?
As Season 5 kicks off, Kayce and wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille) are expecting a baby pretty much momentarily. Meanwhile, his vision about “the end of us” still has us wondering what it might have meant!
… something that Beth never really thought she’d find. Will her marriage to Rip (Cole Hauser) and her political career, both of which are new, be able to co-exist?
With John spending more time in Montana, Rip will have more responsibilities than ever at the ranch. Something tells us the Bunkhouse Boys, as they’re collectively known, will keep him busy!
Will this be the year handsome Ryan (Ian Bohen) finally manages to lasso a lady to call his own?
Despite each of them taking on new responsibilities in the wake of John’s election, Hauser indicates that Rip and Beth will remain on solid ground. “I’m there for her,” he told TVLine in character, “she’s there for me.”
Jamie’s first instinct would definitely not be to help John and Beth. But given what she’s holding over his head — she knows he killed his biological father — he won’t have much choice.
“He’s checkmated by his sister,” Bentley told ETOnLine. “He is angry. He’s broken. With this guy, when he doesn’t have a plan, it’s just boiling anger and that’s dangerous.”
As governor, John will be in a position to help protect his family’s ranch. But he may also find himself having to deal with all new enemies.
Wait… is that? Why yes, it’s Carter, the boy Beth and Rip took in last season. And yes, he’s still being played by the ironically named Finn Little, who has definitely grown up since last we saw him!
Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) has made deals with several devils in the past. But he may not know which way to turn when John’s governorship puts in jeopardy several of those past covenants.
Majorly burned by Beth in the past, Caroline (Jacki Weaver) is determined to see John’s daughter pay. With that goal in mind, she’s about to call in reinforcements in the form of…
Clara (Lilli Kay) may look harmless and even be introduced as someone’s assistant… but appearances can be deceiving, as she’s actually on hand to bring Beth (and perhaps her whole family) down!
