Everyone needs a little romance in their soap operas, especially on Valentine’s Day.
Soaps.com took a walk down memory lane, going through past images of our soaps such as All My Children, As The World Turns, Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, Guiding Light, One Life to Live, Passions, and Young and the Restless. We gathered a few photos from past Valentine’s Day episodes that soap fans might enjoy from scenes such as Ryan (Cameron Mathison) and Greenlee’s (Rebecca Budig) wedding on All My Children circa February 14 and 15, 2011, and As The World Turns’ 2008 Valentine’s Day episode featuring Lily (Martha Byrne) and Holden (Jon Hensley), The Bold and the Beautiful’s popular pairing, Maya (Karla Mosley) and Rick’s (Jacob Young) Valentine’s Day romance last year in 2018 – who knew it’d be their last since this year they split up – offscreen? We then found one of Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) and Katie (Heather Tom) toasting to each other from the same episode. We moved on to Days of our Lives, where we found two images from their Valentine’s Day episode in 2003 which included Rex (then played by Eric Winter) and Mimi (Farah Fath), and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and Brady (then played by Kyle Lowder). It’s interesting how Kyle Lowder’s now playing Rex Brady.
Next we moved on to General Hospital and found an image of Carly and Sonny making out on V-Day 2018, and that glorious diamond engagement ring that Ned proposed to Olivia with in 2017. We couldn’t forget that kiss between Guiding Light’s Jonathan and Lizzie Valentine’s Days in 2008, or that heated kiss between One Life to Live’s Gigi (Farah Fath) and Rex (Jacob Young) on Valentine’s Day in 2011. And though we see Galen Gering as Rafe on Days now, back in 2008, we recall he was romancing Passions’ Fancy (Emily Harper) as Luis.
The last two photos are from The Young and the Restless for the past two years. The first one has JT (Thad Luckinbill) giving Victoria (Amelia Heinle) flowers on Valentine’s Day 2018 during better times, before things took a turn for the worst, and then Y&R’s Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) dined in a romantic scene on Valentine’s Day 2017, well before Lily wound up in prison.
