In July 2012, Gabi Hernandez faked having a stalker to get closer to Chad DiMera who was taken by Melanie Layton (Jonas). She hired photographer’s assistant, Andrew Stark to be her fake stalker and help things along, but Andrew was unbalanced. They discussed how to keep Melanie away from Chad but Gabi told Andrew not to do anything yet. Andrew taped the conversation which made it look bad for Gabi and then kidnapped Melanie. When Gabi saw what he’d done she was outraged at first but he blackmailed her using the recording and she kept quiet.
Andrew took Melanie down into the tunnels under Salem. Melanie smelled gas and saw the faulty wiring and worried they would cause an explosion. Chad and Brady searched for them with Gabi following and the tunnels collapsed. The explosion rocked Salem, causing Jack Deveraux’s “death” by elevator, and Andrew wound up in the hospital where Chad overheard Andrew telling Gabi that Chad would learn what she did. Chad was furious.
Drowned Nick Fallon

One of the few moments Kate Roberts, Sami Brady and Gabi Hernandez, banned together to help one another was after Nick Fallon tried to rape Gabi in the woods. Nick was getting obsessed with Gabi and she hit him in the head with a rock and thought it killed him. Instead of calling the cops, Sami and Kate helped her drag his thought-to-be-dead body into the river. Course he turned up alive.

Nick tried to get Gabi to spend time with him. She was afraid of Nick’s influence over her and shot and killed him in the park outside the square. He crawled to the square where Julie Williams and Rafe Hernandez found him. Eventually, the truth came out and Gabi did prison time.
Faked DNA test results

Fast forward a few years and Gabi got out of prison. She resumed life and even dated Chad for a while when Abigail faked her own death. But Chad dumped her for Abigail. When Andre DiMera was murdered, Abigail’s alt, Gabby, claimed that Gabi confessed to his murder. Gabi wound up in prison for a crime that Abigail’s alt, Gabby, committed. Once the truth came out, and before Gabi got out of prison, she was beaten and told she might not have kids again. Gabi was released and out for revenge. Gabi knew that Chad and his half-brother Stefan DiMera both had sex with Abigail – Stefan had sex with Gabby, her alt, and she became pregnant. Gabi knew Chad was Abigail’s baby daddy, not Stefan, so she burned the DNA test and forged a new one, making it look as though Stefan was the father.

Gabi drugged Abigail in an attempt to convince everyone that her alter Gabby was back. Gabi invited Abby for tea and drugged her drink, took her to the DiMera mansion, and dressed her in the clothing that her altar, Gabby wears. Stefan found her and thought she had come back to him.
Faked being knocked out

After Gabi drugged Abigail and took her to the DiMera mansion, leaving her dressed as Gabby, Gabi returned to the Kiriakis mansion. She hit herself over the head with a tray and faked being knocked out by Abigail once Chad found her “unconscious.” Chad planned to commit Abigail and once she found out, she divorced him and married Stefan. He wound up committing her anyway, but the truth about the real baby daddy came out, even though Gabi tried to blame the fake results on Stefan
Almost smothered Julie

When Julie Williams came across the truth about Gabi faking the DNA test results that proved Chad was the father of Abigail’s baby, she took a tumble down the stairs and wound up in the hospital. Gabi attempted to smother her in order to keep the truth from coming out. She was thwarted.
The murder app

Gabi moved on from taking revenge upon Abigail and set her sights on Stefan DiMera. The two had a lot of hate sex and eventually fell in love and married. After Lani Price shot Stefan when she was aiming for his mother, Vivian Alamain, Stefan died. At the same time, Julie needed a heart transplant. Everyone tried to convince Gabi to donate Stefan’s heart to Julie. Gabi made Lani get on her knees and beg for it and then told her she’d do it if she dumped Eli at the altar. Lani complied and heartbroken, left to Italy to become a nun. While she was gone, Julie got the heart and Gabi and Eli became close as Gabi had an app put into Julie’s pacemaker that she could control. Gabi would zap Julie’s heart when wanted. JJ learned about the app and told Lani and Julie and as Gabi was about to marry Eli, Lani interrupted. They outed Gabi and Eli dumped her at the altar. Gabi was then arrested by Rafe, her brother.
