Jason Morgan and Sam McCall have been through the ringer on General Hospital. They have overcome all the obstacles thrown at them, even when they create them themselves, but is another threat to JaSam’s happiness lurking?
It started with a baby

Jason Morgan and Sam McCall first came together while she was pregnant with Sonny Corinthos’ baby. However, since Sonny had just reunited with Carly Corinthos, Jason stepped in to claim he was the father. He offered to take care of Sam and the baby, so she moved in with him. Sadly, Sam went into premature labor and the baby died. Jason and Sam grew close in the aftermath, thus beginning their long love affair.
More children

Jason and Sam eventually had their own child, Danny Morgan. Sam also thought her daughter Scout was Jason’s child, but Drew Cain, who was once the presumed returned-from-the-dead Jason Morgan, is her biological father. Jason also has a son, Jake, with Elizabeth Webber.
Marriage

Despite a couple of engagements, Jason and Sam only said ‘I do’ once. It occurred in a intimate, yet, romantic ceremony performed at a Chinese restaurant with no guests in attendance. After they made it official without the pressures of family, they had a big celebration with their loved ones. Sam did marry “Jason” one other time, but he was actually Drew, so that doesn’t really count.
Danger

Sam and Jason have been fending off supervillains since day one. They’ve been kidnapped, threatened, and tortured by countless evil-doers including Manny Ruiz, Mr. Craig/Jerry Jacks, the Balkan, reformed serial killer/artist Franco, Cesar Faison, Shiloh, and more.

Since meeting Sam, the only other woman in Jason’s life, not including his best friend Carly, has been Elizabeth Webber. Jason and Elizabeth’s bond goes way back (before he met Sam) and they share a son and were once engaged. As for Sam, in between breakups and makeups with Jason, she had affairs and/or relationships with Ric Lansing, Lucky Spencer, John McBain, Silas Clay, Patrick Drake, and, of course, Drew Cain even after they discovered he wasn’t Jason.
Separation

Jason has tried to distance himself from Sam in the past to keep her safe from his dangerous business and his bond with Elizabeth often came between them. Sam once went so far as to hire men to scare Elizabeth and her boys away from Jason, which created a huge rift between them. Another break up occurred when Sam blamed Jason in part for Danny’s “death.” In reality, the boy had been kidnapped and switched with Tea Delgado’s baby who died. They, of course, overcame that, but, wouldn’t you know it, Jason was “killed” by Faison and held for years as Patient Six in a facility overseen by Peter August. Once Jason and Sam reunited, she was convicted of killing Shiloh, even though it was in self-defense. Upon her release, she was forbidden to come in contact with convicted felons, which included Jason.
Desperate measures

Sam’s frustration over not being allowed to see the love of her life led her to strike a deal with Valentin Cassadine. He arranged for a more lenient parole officer to oversee her case in exchange for her giving him her children’s ELQ stock proxy. Sam was allowed to spend time with Jason, but Valentin’s interference in Quartermaine business was swift and potentially game-changing, which could lead to more problems for Jason and Sam.
