With Brady teasing a trip to the dark side, we’re looking at Days of Our Lives’ villains who have turned good — or at least been tamed.
Xander has gone from smuggling blood diamonds to running Titan Industries. From shooting and caging women to trying to better himself for the love of Sarah Horton. Sure he switched a couple of babies recently, but that was done out of love. So, all forgiven. Sarah’s approval may be his driving force these days, but her mother, Maggie’s approval comes in at a close second.
Kristen has gone from being obsessed with John to being obsessed with his son Brady. She’s done many things to torment those closest to the objects of her desire, including kidnapping Marlena and raping Eric. She even stole Brady and Theresa’s embryo and gave birth to their child, yet Brady continues to love her. Now, after repenting for her sins in a convent and becoming a mother, she’s written as sympathetic as they come. To top it all off, she sacrificed her freedom for her time-jump buddy Lani. Who is this woman?
Blackmail, attempted murder, baby stealing, kidnapping, lying, stealing. Nothing was off the table for the ultimate schemer. Now, Nicole is finally happily married to her long time love — former priest, and all-around do-gooder Eric Brady. His latest villainy was due to amnesia after Rolf toyed with his brain so that one is not entirely his fault. Now, after a murky past, Jack is a lovable goof, husband, and father.
Ben was a serial killer who tormented Chad and Abigail. But then he went away and returned a changed man. Ben got the girl (legacy character Ciara Brady) and the big church wedding, with his victim turned survivor Will as his best man! He may have resorted back to his old ways when he tried to kill Vincent, but that was only to avenge his lady’s death. And the fans backed him all the way.
Claire used to be reactionary and manipulative, especially when it came to her singing career and battling Ciara for guys. Claire even tried to set Ciara on fire — twice. After a stint in the psychiatric ward though she is now sweet as pie with nary a hint of the bad girl she used to be.
We wouldn’t exactly call Sami a good girl now. She definitely wants what she wants and still tries to force things to go her way. However, the days of Sami kidnapping her sister, drugging and raping Austin, switching DNA results, blackmailing, engaging in corporate espionage, and shooting people might be over. Although, she doesn’t live in Salem any longer, so who knows what she gets up to in between tending to a recuperating EJ and alienating her children.
Kate has committed many a misdeed, especially in the name of protecting her children. She has tried to kill Victor more than once, attempted other murders, changed a paternity test or two, kidnapped, blackmailed, and committed fraud. Her past is littered with expert schemes, and she was recently pulled into Stefano taking over Steve’s body. However, time has definitely tamed Kate who left the cutthroat corporate life to work for moral mayor Abe and is now a doting grandmother.
He impersonated his lookalike cousin-turned-brother Tony for years, killed people as the Salem Slasher, imprisoned his sister Lexie, helped facilitate John’s kidnapping and kidney removal, buried Roman alive, killed Benjy Hawk, and made several other murderous attempts. And oh yeah, he was behind the faking of several deaths only to hold them captive on Melaswen Island. But in the end, he and Kate fell in love, he bonded with his brother Chad, and formed a close relationship with Abigail. She was the one to kill him, but he still went out a far better person than who he was.
Former con-woman Bonnie Lockhart has gone to great lengths to try and live the good life. The worst of it was impersonating Adrienne, who went to prison in her place. Bonnie also schemed and manipulated to marry into the Horton and Kiriakis families, with varying degrees of success. Now, she’s donated the entirety of her life-changing settlement money in Adrienne’s memory and entering into a possible relationship with Justin. A far cry from the gold-digger we met many years ago.
