Been There, Escaped That

The episode starts with a flashback to events which unfolded 24-hours ago. John and Steve are handcuffed to a chair, but this is nothing new for them. With a few quips and some fancy handwork, they free themselves.
But before they can escape, Megan enters and — using the same cards pop Stefano once wielded — manages to turn John and Steve into her brainwashed servants!
In Hong Kong, the big DiMera Enterprises party has kicked off. Wendy, Joey and Tripp — dressed to the nines — arrive and begin looking for signs of Harris. Both guys are obviously infatuated with Li’s sister, who admits she isn’t much for dancing.
Watching from the cheap seats, Megan is amused at what’s unfolded at Hope and Harris’ wedding… particularly that her longtime nemesis, Hope, has been shot and killed by Thomas, the hitman Megan hired!
Ben and Ciara rush to the side of a fallen Hope, unable to believe that she’s been killed! Hope, however, seems to be really, most sincerely dead!
In heaven, Bo watches, heartbroken. How can his Fancy Face be dead? And at that moment, Hope pushes open a huge white door and, dressed head-to-toe in white, enters heaven.
At first, Hope doesn’t quite comprehend what’s going on. Is it really Bo? But how can it be, given that he… and then it hits her. She, too, has died. And in doing so, she’s been reunited with her one true love.
Meanwhile, Andrew and Paul prepare to enter the party, hoping that they will find answers to why John and Steve were kidnapped.
With Hope dead, Harris has one more thing he needs to accomplish: Pulling out a gun, he demands that Ciara hand over the prism that Megan so desperately is seeking.
Ciara is having none of it. When the wedding officiant tries to intercede, Harris shoots the man dead! The baddie then tells Ciara that she can hand over the prism, or he can take it out of her cold, dead hand!
Under Megan’s influence, John and Steve do a weapons check and prepare to head to the party. But the men are surprised when they learn that Marlena and Kayla have arrived in Hong Kong!
Although slightly confused, Marlena dn Kayla accompany John and Steve to a hotel room. There, John pulls a gun on the women so he and Steve can tie them up! Marlena tries talking sense into John, but he says there is only one person he takes orders from: The not-so-late Megan!
As Angela watches from the sideline, popcorn in hand, Bo blames Hope for getting herself killed. The longtime lovers bicker as only longtime lovers can, much to the amusement of Bo’s guardian angel.
“How is this reunion in paradise working out?” asks Angela. Realizing it’s not going so hot, Bo and Hope agree to a do-over, and immediately fall into one another’s arms, reveling in the fact that they are together again, even under these tragic circumstances.
Bo realizes that Hope can go back to earth and not only be with their children and new grandson, but be the heroine that Ciara needs at that very moment. Angela, however, informs them that the Second Chance card “is not a subway token! Second chances are very, very rare and non-transferable!” Hope says she doesn’t want to leave heaven or Bo, especially since she hasn’t even seen their son, Zack, who died as a young child.
Hope turns and there is the son she lost when he was five years old. Hope can hardly believe her eyes as they embrace.
Andrew realizes that his cousin, Joey, is in the room and could blow his cover. Just then, Joey spots Andrew and calls out to him. They all gather to compare notes on why they are in Hong Kong and realize that they are essentially on a shared mission.
Reluctantly, Ciara hands Harris the prism, warning that he will rot in hell for what he did to her mother.
“Now you know, we will always be with you in spirit, always,” Bo tells Hope. “But our family needs you now. you’re not ready to be here. I know this.” And though she wants to deny it, Hope knows it, too.
Hope is devastated. How can she possibly say good-bye, again, to the love she already lost once? Angela breaks out her magic remote and, with the press of a button, Bo and Hope’s song — “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love For You” — begins to play, and the couple shares a dance.
Looking into one another’s eyes and forgetting everything else, including that they’ll soon be parted again, Bo and Hope enjoy this beautiful moment together.
As they dance, their minds are flooded with memories of their epic love story… from their first motorcycle ride to the day they wed.
Although Angela warned Hope that she would remember nothing of her time in heaven, that didn’t stop Bo’s wife from taking one last look back, as if searing the image of him with their son into her memory.
“I’ll see them again one day,” Hope says. “I’ll just hold onto that.” But as she enters the portal to return to earth, things take a shocking turn down below!
Ben takes Ciara’s hand and suggests they leave. “Not so fast,” says Harris, taking aim at and shooting Ciara as Ben shouts her name!
Ben kneels beside his felled wife. Has Ciara, like Hope, been taken away for good?
In heaven, Angela breaks out her magic remote and, with the push of a button, turns time back to just before Hope was shot by Megan’s assassin!
As happened before, Hope notices a reflection off of the gun that is being wielded by Thomas. It looks as if she’s about to take yet another bullet!
In the room overlooking the park, Thomas is just about to pull the trigger and do away with the newly-wed Hope.
When in comes Sister Mary Moira, slapping her brother with a ruler and taking him to task for going against God’s will. She tries taking the gun away from him and, in the resulting struggle, it accidentally goes off!
This time, however, it is Harris, not Hope, who is shot! Despite taking a bullet, he’s determined to get the prism from Hope. Ben, however, manages to subdue the baddie and get the gun away from him.
With no choice but to take care of the situation herself, Megan emerges from the woods, gun drawn. Hope is stunned to see Stefano’s daughter, alive and gunning for her!
At the Hong Kong party, Li unveils one of the prisms to his guests. Unfortunately, he now knows that the second prism — which he thought he would be getting from Phil — has been stolen from the dead poker player.
And in the closing moment, John and Steve enter the DiMera party. They draw their guns, clearly ready to obtain the prism for Megan… by any means necessary!
