Desperately seeking the woman he loved, Finn began his search for Steffy. Only a few hours earlier, he’d been trapped in a room by the manical mother who had very nearly ended his life. Now, he was in Monte Carlo, searching for the wife who believed him dead!
Before long, Ridge and Taylor, too, had joined the search for their daughter. They’d come to Monte Carlo to try and comfort Steffy, having no clue that they’d soon be joined by the son-in-law they, like everyone else, had believed dead!
Coming across a woman dressed in black, Finn believed he’d at long last found Steffy. But when he called her name, the woman turned around and revealed herself to be someone else.
When an Italian-speaking gentleman came along, Finn quickly tried to explain that it had simply been a case of mistaken identity. Turning away, Finn’s search continued.
Meanwhile, a forlorn Steffy stared out at the ocean, her face a portrait of sadness. She recalled happier times with the husband she simply could not move past. The day he got down on one knee to propose, their wedding day, and when she’d given birth. So many happy times… but with him gone, would she ever manage to smile again?
Ridge, Taylor and Finn ran into Steffy’s grief counselor, who was understandably shocked to see the man her patient was mourning, alive and well. She offered Steffy’s loved ones suggestions as to where they might look, adding that Steffy had taken to going on long walks alone, without her phone.
As Steffy sat in a beautiful courtyard, she was approached by a stranger. Although Steffy insisted that she could not be helped by anyone, the stranger suggested that perhaps someone might prove her wrong. At that moment, the deep, resonate bells of a nearby church began to ring.
Both Taylor and Ridge continued to approach anyone they could find in Monte Carlo. Ridge showed people a photograph of his daughter, asking if anyone had seen her. Unfortunately, no one had. It was as if Steffy had simply vanished into her grief.
Having entered the church, Steffy quietly approached the votive candles. Picking up a match, she lit one, her thoughts no doubt on Finn. Perhaps here, in this church, she might find the comfort she was so desperately seeking.
Steffy stood before the candles in silence, her thoughts a million miles away. What she couldn’t know was that just outside the church, the husband she missed so terribly was getting ever closer.
Clearly, Finn was growing frustrated. Where could Steffy be? He felt as if he’d searched everywhere, and yet he’d failed to find her. Just then, he heard the church bells ringing and, as if compelled by some unknown force, began moving toward their source.
Suddenly, Finn’s breath caught as he looked up. Coming out of the church, across the way… could it really be Steffy? Almost tentatively at first, he called out her name…
Emerging from the church, Steffy looked up. Had she really heard her name being called? And there, in the distance, was a man who looked like… but no, it couldn’t be… Finn? Had her prayers really been answered?
For a moment, their lives seemed to be happening in slow motion as Steffy and Finn began moving toward one another. It was a moment both had imagined over and over, and finally, it was truly happening. They had been given their miracle!
Steffy pulled Finn into her arms, tears gushing down her cheeks. There were so many questions, yet at this moment, none of them matters. She reached out to stroke his cheek, then almost poked at his chest as if to prove to herself that this wasn’t a figment of her imagination. But no, it was real. Finn had come back to her.
In that moment, Steffy and Finn reveled in their happiness. Questions would be answered later. New problems would no doubt arise. But for now, all else could wait. Their love had been given a second chance, and they were going to revel in every moment of their romantic reunion.
