Episode two opens in Monte Carlo, where Kristen catches up with the news from back home… including details about her own arrest and imprisonment! Before long, she catches the eye of a handsome man sitting a few barstools away.
The man’s name is Phil, and he’s a poker player who just won a very special prize in a tournament. Clearly targeting the man, Kristen suggests that they return to his room for a night neither of them will ever forget. And she’s not exaggerating, especially after she strips down.
It turns out that “Kristen” is actually Thomas Banks in disguise, explaining how the “real” Kristen can be behind bars in Salem. Thomas pulls out a gun and shoots Phil twice in the chest, killing him.
Opening Phil’s briefcase, Thomas — having ditched the Kristen drag — retrieves a prism. Clearly this, not Phil, was the object of his desire!
At the DiMera compound in Venezuela, the not-so-late Megan mocks “senior super spies” John and Steve. She explains that rumors of her death were greatly exaggerated, reminiscing about the fact that Hope was supposed to be electrocuted in that hot tub years earlier.
Hope introduces a stunned Ben and Ciara to her new beau, Harris Michaels. Michaels says that he is a navy seal who formerly lived in Salem and dated Eve. He scores points with Ciara by admitting he didn’t treat Eve well. (You’ll recall that Eve kidnapped and tortured Ben on his and Ciara’s wedding day.) Michaels says he and Hope met in a bar while both were in Greece.
In heaven, Bo is clearly not pleased by his true love’s new romance, insisting there’s something wrong with the guy. Angela — equally displeased to learn he hotwired the viewing screen — thinks Bo’s just jealous, but does agree to let him continue spying on watching Hope.
Andrew introduces himself, saying not only is he Shane and Kimberly’s son but, like his pop, he’s in the ISA. He’s there to help Paul find out exactly what happened to John, telling him that Steve has gone missing as well.
Checking out local security camera footage, Andrew and Paul quickly deduce that Michaels was a regular at a local gym called The Body Connection. (If that sounds familiar to longtime Days fans, wait until you see what’s coming up… )
As Bo watches, Michaels insists to a skeptical Ciara that his intentions toward Hope are honorable. Ciara tries to resist doing a whole-body eyeroll as in heaven, Bo is more convinced than ever that something isn’t right about the guy.
At the Body Connection, Paul and Andrew meet the facility’s owner, Roman Chris Kositchek. He informs them that Michaels has been a regular at the gym of late and issues them guest passes so they can stick around until their “friend” shows up. He suggests they relax in the hot tub.
Megan tells John and Steve that she is alive thanks to her father, Stefano, who had her cryogenically frozen until advancements could be made which would bring her back to life.
Tripp and Joey go to the apartment in Seattle to look for clues as to who might have sent them the exploding pizza. They find an intruder who tries, but fails, to escape. She does, however, put up a good fight before finally being subdued by the guys.
Paul and Andrew get to know one another better in the hot tub. Andrew admits that he, too, is gay, and that his parents were every bit as accepting of the news as was John.
As the guys are chilling in the hot tub, a nefarious man tinkers with a nearby electrical system. His attempt to electrocute them fails, mainly because Paul and Andrew were immediately suspicious of his not-so-discreet efforts. In the resulting melee, the baddie is knocked unconscious before Paul and Andrew can get answers from him.
Searching Michaels’ locker, Andrew and Paul discover an invitation to the DiMera Enterprises Gala which is being held in Hong Kong the next day.
Thomas arrives in Venezuela and presents Megan with the prism. She reveals it is the first of three which, when combined, can cure “all manner of medical maladies.” Stefano believed they were the key to eternal life, and she is clearly hoping to bring him back. The next phase of her plan? To send a brainwashed Steve and John to retrieve a prism at the DiMera Enterprises party. Stefano, she says, would love the idea of using the good guys to do his bidding.
Excusing himself, Harris makes a phone call to someone saying their plan has hit a bump in the form of Ciara, Ben and the baby. But he promises not to let “anyone get in the way of what we have planned for Hope Brady!”
Wendy reveals to Tripp and Joey that she’s the younger sister of Li Shin and that she’s looking for Michaels. Why? “I’m hoping he can lead me to one of the missing prisms my brother Li has been searching for!”
As Ben and his wife prepare to take a walk around the city, Ciara sees something that makes her declare, “Oh my God.” Turning, Hope sees that Harris has dropped down to one knee and broken out a wedding ring! She accepts his proposal and he slips the ring on her finger.
As you can see, Ciara is clearly thrilled by the news that she’s about to have a new stepfather.
Watching from heaven, Bo is at least as disturbed as his daughter by what’s going on down on earth. He begs Angela to let him go down and somehow find a way to keep his family safe.
Angela tells Bo that he can’t be sent to the surface, especially since he broke the rules by bringing Tripp back to life on his last visit. Unwilling to take “no” for an answer, Bo says that he has to talk to “the big man himself!”
