The rumor mill is buzzing again and Soaps.com readers are discussing the possibility on our message board that “General Hospital’s” Tyler Christopher (Port Charles’ Nikolas Cassadine) may be headed to “Days of our Lives” and many are thrilled at the prospect of seeing Christopher back on daytime. Tyler Christopher left General Hospital in 2016 after the actor and the show failed to negotiate a new contract. Nick Stabile filled in for Christopher while he was off camera, and the character of Nikolas was shot by Valentin and presumably fell to his death, but a body was never found. Fans have been hoping for Christopher’s return to “GH” since the incident. Christopher has been busy since leaving “GH,” filming the dark comedy Pretty Broken and the thriller The Other Mother.

Now with former “GH” head writer Ron Carlivati taking over as head writer at Days of our Lives, rumors are circulating he’s bringing Christopher on board. Carlivati recently told Soap Opera Digest that he was focusing on existing characters rather than bringing on new ones, which could suggest Christopher may be placed in a recast of an existing part. Given the advanced taping schedule of “Days,” he likely wouldn’t be seen until 2018. Some posters feel Christopher would make an excellent Alexander Kiriakis, Justin and Anjelica’s son, though reader jaws63 suggested he’d be a better fit for EJ DiMera. Ms. Diablo suggested he could be Andrew Donovan, the oldest child of Kim and Shane Donovan, while we think he’d make a great Scotty Banning, Julie’s grandson who was last played by former “GH” actor Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing).
