Maggie Agrees to Give a Deteriorating Sarah the Antidote — Plus, Ava Comes to Gwen With a Plan
Wednesday, May 11, 2022: Today on Days of Our Lives, Sarah reacts to the antidote, Gabi wants Jake back, Ava makes Gwen an offer, and Sonny gives Uncle Vic an answer.
Abigail runs into Kayla at the hospital and congratulates her on getting her job back. She also knows Maggie brought Sarah back from Florida and asks if there’s any change. Kayla is sorry to say there’s not, but she’s waiting on results from tests and scans. Abby then updates her aunt on the latest Gwen drama.
In a hospital room, Xander and Maggie sit with a childlike Sarah, who talks of marrying Eric Brady one day. Off to the side, Xander tells Maggie a lab tech relayed there are no issues with the antidote so far, but Maggie doesn’t trust it. Right now, she has her happy and healthy daughter back, who answers when she calls her name. Maggie turns and says, “Don’t you, Sarah?” Sarah just stares off in a trance. When they can’t get a response out of her, Xander runs to find Kayla.
Xander races to the lobby to get Kayla, who goes to Sarah. Xander is left to fret with Abigail. As angry as he is with her for leaving the drug around in the first place, he thanks Abigail for exposing Gwen’s misdeeds. When Maggie and Kayla re-join them, Kayla declares Sarah’s condition is deteriorating. She doesn’t know if the antidote will work, but right now, it’s their only hope. Maggie tears up and softly says, “Give Sarah the drug.”
In Sarah’s hospital room, Xander and Maggie nervously watch as Kayla injects Sarah with the antidote.
While sleeping in Jake’s bed, Ava has a nightmare about Gwen stabbing her with a syringe. She jolts awake. Jake wakes up and assures her it was just a nightmare. He puts a hand on her shoulder and says she’s safe. As they lean in close, Gabi knocks on the door. After Ava and Gabi make snarky remarks, Ava makes a display of kissing Jake on the cheek before leaving to run an errand.
Alone, Gabi says she’s there to un-oust him from DiMera. “I want you back,” she says. As her employee, that is. Though uninterested, Jake agrees to hear her out, wondering what her angle is. She tries to deflect, but eventually admits EJ is circling and she’ll need a DiMera to bolster her case with the board. After some consideration, Jake agrees.
Leo visits Gwen in the interrogation room. After commiserating over their blown up weddings, Leo declares they will make those bitches pay. While Gwen loves the idea of getting revenge on Chad and Abigail, she reminds him she’s locked up. Leo suggests she get Jack to convince Abigail to drop the charges. Gwen knows that’s out of the question considering she claimed to have killed Abby’s grandmother on purpose. Leo leans in and whispers, “Did you?” As Gwen is about to answer, Ava walks in. Incensed, Leo orders her out. But Ava has something important to say. Gwen thanks Leo, but assures him she’ll be fine alone with Ava.
After Leo leaves, Ava apologizes for selling her out to the cops. She was just her life preserver when she was going down. Incensed, Gwen orders her out, but Ava says she came there to bust her out.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Victor demands an answer from Sonny about taking over as CEO at Titan. When Victor assumes his “clingy” husband is a reason for him not deciding yet, Sonny corrects him. Will told him to take the job. “I’m in,” Sonny declares. However, he warns that Leo has sworn revenge on him.
