Soaps.com has learned from Publisher’s Weekly, that Days of Our Lives, Corday Productions and Sony Pictures is partnering with Sourcebooks to produce both nonfiction and fiction novels featuring the cast of the show to historical behind the scenes accounts of the show, never before seen, starting in May of 2010. The first book is called, “The Days of Our Lives: The Untold Story of One Family’s Dream,” and the second, “True History of The Days of Our Lives.”

Sourcebooks is also planning a coffee table-style illustrated book to celebrate the 45th year of production of the show, to be released in the fall, in addition to a selection of novels based on Days characters.

The show refused to comment on this news at this time. When we learn more, we’ll update you here.

Ken Corday, Executive Producer of Days of our Lives has been quoted as saying, “I am thrilled to be working on such an amazing project that will give our loyal viewers the ability to understand my family’s journey through theatre, radio, and television to the creation of Days of our Lives. These books go one step further into revealing what has made this show, its actors, and its characters thrive and survive for 44 years. Not only will readers gain insight into behind-the-scenes stories, but they will also learn the history behind this staple of a show.”

The book, “The Days of our Lives: The True Story of One Family’s Dream and the Untold History of Days of our Lives” is available for pre-order now and will be released on May 1. Check your local book store to pre-order!
