What’s true and what’s rumor behind the scenes of Salem on Days of our Lives?

The rumor mill is chock full of speculation regarding Days of our Lives these days. Soaps.com breaks down the latest buzz on the comings and goings for your favorite and, maybe not so favorite, characters.

Who’s leaving?

We hear that Kassie DePaiva is already done taping scenes as Eve Donovan. As most know, the show tapes around eight months in advance, so Eve could still be seen for some time. What sends her on her way remains to be seen, but could it have something to do with Eve’s husband Jack Deveraux, whose portrayer is also rumored to be leaving? Or is he staying? Fans who saw Matthew Ashford at a recent event report he’s still taping scenes and is on contract.

There are also grumblings that Jack’s son JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) and his girlfriend Haley Chen (Thia Megia) are headed off canvas too. The word is they’re leaving together in February. Could they get married and leave town? Just need a fresh start in a new city? Or could their exits have something to do with Haley’s citizenship?

Brandon Barash is believed to have taped his last scenes as Stefan DiMera as well. Which is curious considering Stefan and Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) just got married (for convenience) and are giving in to their real feelings for each other. Could Kristen DiMera follow through on her recent threat to kill her brother? Could there be another recast?

It feels as though he just returned, but Thaao Penghlis is already halfway through the 15 episode arc we hear he originally signed up for. Rumor has it, Tony DiMera gets arrested. Will that send him off canvas, or will he find a way to beat the charges and stick around Salem?

Who’s staying?

Billy Flynn is returning to the network Days of our Lives this fall, but he’s already back as Chad DiMera in the digital companion series Chad & Abby in Paris. Word is he’s coming back on contract, but his onscreen wife Kate Mansi, who is also in the digital series, is returning as a recurring character.

The buzz has been swirling that Stacy Haiduk is still filming, which means viewers could see Kristen DiMera for months to come. However, word on the street suggests that Nicole is in fact alive, so despite Kristen possibly not using her Nicole mask anymore, Arianne Zucker could be sticking around to play the real Nicole Walker.

Robin Strasser is on her way to Salem for a 15 episode arc as Vivian Alamain beginning September 3. Will she take her son Stefan away from Salem and from Gabi, or are the rumors true and she’ll be sticking around for an extended run?
