Casting updates for Days of our Lives.
Days of our Lives is casting for several smaller roles on the NBC soap to appear on the show over the next six months due to the fact that the show tapes that far in advance. Some of these roles are for a single appearance while others may be recurring. Check out Soaps.com’s Days of our Lives spring dayplayer roles and watch for who will be in Salem this summer and into the fall below. Major casting announcements for the NBC soap opera can be found in the Days of our Lives Comings and Goings section.

Actor returns, as a new character
Brock Kelly, who portrayed Abigail’s boyfriend Josh, on Days of our Lives from August 2005 to May 2006, in 11 episodes, is returning to the NBC soap beginning on November 12. This time, Kelly will play the role of David’s nanny, Evan Frears. Look for him to share scenes with Rafe (Galen Gering) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith). Some will also remember Kelly as playing the character of Sam on Young and the Restless in 2004.
Dr. Shah returns, followed by a recast
Andre Khabbazi returns to Days of our Lives as Dr. Henry Shah on July 24. Though he was supposed to return on September 12 as well, the actor was unavailable at the time of taping, therefore Piter Marek will step into the recast role for a brief return which ends with his death September 26. This isn’t Marek’s first time on Days of our Lives… back in 2012 he played Dr. Lewis. Khabbazi first played the part back in 2017 when he treated Abigail (Marci Miller) after a hit-and-run, and returned in early 2018 to romance Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves), though at the time she was interested in Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) so the relationship went nowhere. He appeared a few more times in 2018. Khabbazi previously played Officer Oscar Ruiz on Sunset Beach and Alec Moretti on The Young and the Restless.

Tom Ohmer will be seen as Joe on Days of our Lives January 6, 2020, and April 22, 2020. This isn’t his first appearance in Salem. Ohmer portrayed McCoy/ Adam Thomas on Days December 13, 2011.
Delpaneaux Wills plays an EMT in Salem January 6, 2020. Wills has played a nurse and an orderly on Days of our Lives in 2010, 2012, and November 2018. Some may recognize Wills from his role on General Hospital as an Anesthesiologist and a reporter in 2008 and again in 2017 and 2018.
Alex Hernandez returns to Days of our Lives as a medical consultant during the week of September 2. The actor last appeared in the role back in June.
