Days of our Lives needs another renewal.

NBC announced new changes to its daytime line up with singer Kelly Clarkson’s new talk show slated to debut in the fall of 2019. Soaps.com readers who are fans of Days of our Lives may be wondering if the addition to the daily schedule will affect the soap opera, however, according to TV Line, they can rest easy for now.

The Kelly Clarkson Show, which has been picked up by 11 NBC markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Miami, San Diego and Hartford, will be the new lead-in for Ellen, and will be replacing Steve Harvey’s Steve when it launches, however, the daytime line-up could always change again as Days is currently only renewed for one season at a time.

Most recently, on Days 54th season renewal, NBC executive vice president of current programming, Bruce Evans, stated, “We’re very excited about having more great Days in Salem. Ken Corday [Executive Producer] and his team continue to tell stories with which the Days loyal audience feels a deep connection. We congratulate them on their remarkable daytime legacy and look forward to what they have planned for the new season.”

Considering Days’ hike in ratings under current headwriter, Ron Carlivati, one hopes that when the time comes the network will elect to continue airing stories from Salem for the devoted viewers.

The concern over Kelly Clarkson’s show is reminiscent of uncertainty when Days was moved to noon in New York and Megyn Kelly was rumored to be getting her own daytime talk show on the NBC network.
