Daytime star plans proposal.

Updated August 8: Freddie Smith released a video documenting everything that went into his surprise proposal to fiancé Alyssa Tabit. He explains how he convinced Samba Sol to do a photoshoot featuring the couple and the company’s products. This was how he was able to gain access to a romantic Malibu location to propose to Tabit without her realizing a proposal was going to occur. He also flew in her parents, friends and other family members to be there for the big moment, which was all caught on film. Soaps.com congratulates the couple.

On July 22 we reported that Freddie Smith proposed to girlfriend Alyssa Tabit during a white on white photo shoot the two were doing for eco-friendly flip-flop company Samba Sol. The company is currently collaborating with the National Young Arts Foundation to provide a platform to turn art into fashion. Soaps.com congratulates the happy couple.

First reported on July 20, Soaps.com congratulates Days of our Lives Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis), who is planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend Alyssa Tabit. Smith tells Soap Opera Digest, “Some time by the end of summer we’re going to get engaged. We’ll be planning our wedding for summer or fall of 2019. We went ring shopping together, she picked out what she wanted, but she’s not going to know anything else.” Smith is going to surprise her with a romantic proposal that he’s already planning in secret. Smith and Tabit currently host a podcast show called The Freddie and Alyssa Show. Episodes are available on iTunes and YouTube, and they give away free phone calls to fans on Fridays.

Smith shared on Instagram how he and Tabit met at a Dirty Disney themed party in February of 2010. Tabit was dressed as Ariel, but at the time was with someone else. The two became friends while dating other people off and on, until the summer of 2011 when they officially became a couple. Smith remembers, “After chasing her month after month, we finally tied the knot [figure of speech]. She moved in 3 weeks later and we’ve been together ever since. She is my love, my life, my soul mate, my business partner, my light, my everything and more than anything she is what she has been since 2010 – my very best friend.”

The couple has had their fair share of challenges. In 2015 Freddie Smith was charged with drunk driving after a car accident left Tabit badly injured. Smith pled guilty to vehicular assault and driving under the influence and was sentenced to 2 years of community control and to complete DUI School in Ohio where the accident happened. The couple came out of the ordeal stronger and more committed to one another.

Smith recently shared on social media that June 23 marked his debut on Days as Sonny Kiriakis seven years ago in 2011. He recalls, “I remember my first day like it was yesterday. With Sonny being the first openly gay contract player on Days of our Lives, we all had a huge responsibility to tell an honest and truthful story about an out and proud gay man. I am so honored to say that not only did we tell a true love story, but did in such a way that Sonny Kiriakis has become one of the most liked and rooted for characters on the show!” The actor was written off the show in 2015, but Freddie Smith return to Days in July of 2016 and back on contract.

Soaps.com wishes the couple well and will update readers when Smith finally pops the question.

? Love you @alyssatabit

Seven years ago today on June 23rd, 2011, Sonny Kiriakis appeared on screen for the very first time!! I can’t believe it’s been seven years already. I remember my first day like it was yesterday. With Sonny being the first openly gay contract player on Days of Our Lives, we all had a huge responsibility to tell an honest and truthful story about an out and proud gay man. I am so honored to say that not only did we tell a true love story, but did in such a way that Sonny Kiriakis has become one of the most liked and rooted for characters on the show! I want to thank Sony and NBC, the executive producers, writers, directors, cast and crew for telling a brave love story at a time when courage was needed to shed light on equal rights. I’m so happy that our story has impacted so many peoples lives in a positive way. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! #anniversary #nbcdays

In February of 2010, I was invited to a party. Come to find out it was a "Dirty Disney" party. The host of the party was none other than the amazing and beautiful @alyssatabit. I remember meeting her and she was dressed as Ariel. More rated R than PG Ariel. ? Unfortunately, she was with someone and I wasn't her prince ?? It wasn't until a few weeks later we connected again when my buddy and I asked her to play a part in a web series we had created. We added each other on Facebook and started getting to know one another. It was mostly witty banter back and forth and a friendship began to blossom! For the next year, we started hanging out and we're pretty inseparable. We would go running together, hang by the pool, go to parties, and once we even had a tanning competition to see who could get darker in six weeks. It was a perfect excuse for me to spend time with her by the pool. ☀️ Most of this year, we were both dating other people off and on and the timing just never lined up. I mean we did have a few make out sessions every now and then ? ? It wasn't until the summer of 2011, after chasing her month after month, we finally tied the knot. She moved in 3 weeks later and we've been together ever since. She is my love, my life, my soul mate, my business partner, my light, my everything and more than anything she is what she has been since 2010–my very best friend. I love you Alyssa and you inspire me each and everyday. Thank you for making my life so much brighter. Xoxoxo I love you ❤️#love #appreciation #pgnchallenge #bestfriends
