Updated December 13: “Days of our Lives” has just announced their first major update of its new innovative app, the DOOLMoji App, on Thursday December 14. The second collection of emojis will include depictions of many fan-favorite characters such as, Abe Carver (James Reynolds), Claire Brady (Olivia Keegan), Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva), Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), Lani Price (Sal Stowers), Eli Grant (Lamon Archey), Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus), Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and many more! In addition to show characters, the app will also feature memorable GIFs from the show’s favorite moments, and holiday themed emojis. This update comes complete with emojis of additional cast members, GIFs of your fan-favorite moments in Salem, and holiday-themed emojis just in time for the holidays.
As we reported on September 19, the NBC soap was approaching its 52nd anniversary on television in November, and they’re commemorating these five thrilling decades by announcing the launch of the “official” and “groundbreaking” DOOLMoji app, a first of its kind for any daytime drama series. They’re unveiling emoji renders of the show’s iconic characters. With additional emojis being released later on this year, the first collection of emojis will include depictions of many fan-favorite characters such as Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), and Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves), as well as much anticipated returns including Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). In addition, the app will also feature emojis of memorable moments, objects, and symbols including the infamous Sami and Carrie bitch slap of 1997 and Marlena’s levitation of 1994.
Greg Meng, Co-Executive Producer, Days of our Lives and Executive in Charge of Production, Corday Productions Inc. says, “After more than a year developing and fine-tuning the emojis, we are excited to finally release the DOOLMoji app! We’ve created this for our family of passionate and loyal fans to use to express their thoughts and feelings about their favorite soap—whether they’re loving it or loving to hate it!”
The app was developed by Corday Productions, created as an exciting new way for fans to communicate with each other and with the show via social media platforms as well as through text messaging apps and SMS. The DOOLMoji App will be released September 21 and will be available on devices such as Android and iPhones, available in the Google Play and App Store for $.99 cents.
