Jen Lilley shares personal news with fans.

Updated June 11, 2019: Soaps.com couldn’t be happier for Days of our Lives alum Jen Lilley (Theresa Donovan) and her husband Jason Wayne who officially adopted their oldest foster son. The actress posted a sweet video on Twitter, holding a sign that stated, “I spent 984 days in foster care but today I am adopted,” reads a plaque in her hand. “It’s official!!!!! #adoption #fostercare #thisisus.”

Prior to that, she shared the wonderful ending on their journey to adoption and expressed, “Y’all. I had the craziest dream! I was holding this little guy’s hand and walking through a world full of goodness and truly magical moments, and yet very warped and scary landscapes. Oh wait. That’s called #fostercare. I’m happy to report, that this beautiful photo doesn’t represent a dream, it represents reality! Only 5 more days in #fostercare for this munchkin before he’s ours forever. It’s been an almost three year journey, full of scary twists and turns, but also lots of laughter and fun. I’ve had some serious come to Jesus days and nights, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world. There’s no easy way to become a momma, and I’m so blessed this little guy ended up with us. Can’t wait to finally show you his expressive face!!! Monday June 10th y’all. Mark your calendars as the #bestdayyet!! #adoption #fosterlove #fostermomma #adoptivemomma 💕💕💕.”

The couple still has an emotional road ahead of them, as Jen Lilley continues the custody fight for their other foster son, their adoptive son’s biological younger brother.

On October 17, 2018 we reported that Days’ Jen Lilley (Theresa) and her husband can officially adopt their son as of yesterday. The actress posted on Instagram, “Today is October 16, 2018 and it’s a mix of emotions for me. THE GREAT NEWS: this plane can finally stop sitting on the runway and has cleared for take off! You see, Oct 16, 2018 marks the first day my son is truly legally untethered from this biological family. While bio parental rights were terminated months ago, today is the first day he’s no longer at risk of being taken from the only parents he’s really ever known because the appeals period has officially passed!!!!❤️?????? Being mommy to this little boy for the past 2 years and some odd weeks has been the most wonderful and transformational experience of my life. He’s made me cry harder than I’ve ever cried, pray more fervently than I’ve ever prayed, opened up an impossible depth of empathy for his biological momma, crafted me into a real momma bear, made me laugh harder than anyone’s ever made me laugh, and made me appreciate my husband more than I ever have. This little tot is truly a gift from God and experiencing every unpredictable up and down that comes with foster parenting and the crazy system has been worth it. We’ve still got a little ways to go, but legally we’re cleared to start the official adoption paper signing!” Also, Jen Lilley revealed a miscarriage that occurred previously on that same date.

On September 17, 2018 we learned that Days of our Lives actress Jen Lilley (Theresa Donovan) and her husband Jason Wayne are one step closer to adopting her foster son. The actress is currently filming a movie in Vancouver, but took some time out to post a photo of the precious boy she’s been fostering, along with the news, “Missing my little boy so much while I film on location in Vancouver, but I have so much peace in my heart knowing that this time, when I come back, he won’t be my foster son, he’ll be my soon to be adopted son. Yes. We are officially on the road to adoption. I have loved every single moment over the last two years with this little man. I’ve taught him to roll over and crawl, how to walk and run. How to sleep in a big boy bed. How to talk and always say please and thank you. We’ve had fun exploring parks and looking at real life choo choo trains. He has given me more laughter in two long and tearful years than I have had in my lifetime. And when I come home, I’m taking this kiddo to Disneyland. One more week munchkin. Momma loves you.”
