No reason.

In this edition of the “Days of our Lives’” Throwback Thursday poll, takes readers back to 1984 when Carlo Forenza’s presence caused Pete Jannings to become jealous…

Salem’s Claire Brady tried to keep her mother Belle Brady away from Philip Kiriakis this week, and back then, Pete was upset about his love interest, Melissa Horton, spending time with Carlo. Carlo had just received his paperwork allowing him to work in the United States and Melissa instantly offered him a job helping her with details for Hope Brady’s upcoming wedding to Larry Welch. Pete arrived in time to see Carlo and Melissa heading out to deliver invitations together, and was none too pleased. He tagged along in a surly mood that didn’t improve when the trio later ended up at Rhino’s where Pete was working for Chris Kositchek. Pete kept insulting Carlo, mostly about being a rich kid who didn’t know what it was like to be poor. The situation deteriorated until they wound up stepping outside to settle their differences. Much to Pete’s surprise, they didn’t fight, but Carlo told him about the poverty he’d experienced in his own country in South America, and the situation was diffused.

After, Pete admitted to Melissa that he had been jealous of Carlo, and she told him he had no reason to feel that way. Pete then asked her to accompany him someplace, but she was sure she wouldn’t be allowed to go with him. They decided she would tell her mom she was going out with Carlo, and then they could spend time together.
