Ex-Days’ Matt Cedeno cast on The Originals

Cortex is not a welcome guest.

Matt Cedeno played Brandon Walker on “Days of our Lives” from 1999 – 2009, a role many fans would love to see him return to. Since then he was seen on “Devious Maids” as Alejandro Rubio, as Chuy Mendez on “Rosewood,” and “Z Nation’s” Vasquez. This season, Cedeno stars as Cortez, a “callous, smart and manipulative vampire from the Mikaelson’s past” who heads to New Orleans looking for vengeance. In an interview with TVLine, executive producer, Michael Naducci said, “Cortez is someone who was sired by a unique circumstance. He has a very interesting perspective, particularly on Klaus. He’s of Klaus’ sire line, but he was not sired by Klaus. He’s a very intriguing character, one of the most dangerous folks we’ve met.”
