Canadian viewers will be happy to learn that Sony Pictures Television and Shaw Media have made a deal to renew “Days of our Lives” through to the 2015-16 TV season. All of the latest action in Salem will continue to air on the Shaw-owned Global Television Network.

If you have been worrying that life in Salem may not last much longer, you are in luck. It turns out that “Days of our Lives” has just been granted another extension on its contract with NBC. Jennifer Salke, the President of NBC Entertainment, has just announced that they will continue their relationship with the series until at least September 2016. “We appreciate NBC’s continued support and are excited to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary with our generations of dedicated fans,” said Steve Kent, Senior EVP, Programming, Sony Pictures Television. “Days” will celebrate its 50th anniversary in November 2015.
