On Saturday, January 17, Living the Dream Inc. held their annual banquet in downtown Topeka, Kansas to honor the community’s youth, people who have contributed to the betterment of the city, and the life of Martin Luther King Jr. One of those honored was Kansas native and Days of Our Lives actor James Reynolds (Abe).

James was given the organization’s highest honor: The Lifetime Achievement Award. The actor and his wife were able to stop in for the ceremony on their way to the Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C., which will be held on Tuesday, January 20.

According to their website, Living the Dream Inc.’s mission is to enhance Dr. Martin Luther King’s philosophy of nonviolence throughout the year, to recognize and teach human understanding and to promote academic excellence. Each year, this organization provides scholarships to students and honors individuals, organizations and corporations for their contributions to the Topeka and Shawnee County community.
