TVLine has now received official confirmation that “Days of Our Lives” has been renewed for one more season. Its new contract will expire in September 2014.

Fears that the adventures of the people of Salem could be coming to a close have been haunting viewers of “Days of our Lives” for years. With the latest contract cycle set to run out in September, NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt decided it was time to make a public statement about the future of the soap. According to TV Line, the network executive assured a group of television critics that the soap would not be cancelled this year. He stressed, however, that this was not an official statement and nothing had been set in stone.
