A former Marine, James Reynolds (Abe, Days) remains committed to supporting the armed services and was recently named chairman of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 2009 National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans. As part of his duties, James will lead VA’s annual patient recognition program, where he will invite the public to visit and honor hospitalized veterans during National Salute Week, February 8 – 14.

James’ patriotic service doesn’t end there, as he is also the national spokesperson for more than 131,000 volunteers serving veterans at VA facilities across the nation. The actor also tours with the USO and has traveled to Cuba, the Mediterranean, Kuwait and Afghanistan to support troops who are overseas.

In 2007, he was honored by the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Veteran Affairs and Armed Services Committee for his contribution to the United States Armed Forces.

Soaps.com is impressed by James dedication and support of the armed services and congratulates him on his new post!
