A Look at Bo and Hope’s Weddings on Days of our Lives
Hope: Bo, oh Bo..
Bo: Come on... say the words
Hope: I Hope Williams take... OH God I have to push, I need to push, I have to push...
Dr.Bader: The baby's coming now.
Hope: OH GOD I have to push, Bo... OH, OH God!
Bo: (helping her along with the pushing) Come on...
Dr. Bader: This baby isn't going to wait for you to be married, okay, it needs to be born right now! Just give me a few pushes and you'll be holding your baby.
Hope: No, not yet, not yet, not yet, Bo.
Bo: Can we get to the "I now pronounce you man and wife” part? We'd like to make this legal before baby Brady shows up.
Hope: Bo, I need to know something.
Bo: What? Anything?
Hope: Do you really what this baby?
Bo: Yes Fancyface it did take me awhile to get used to the idea of this baby, but now I am and I love it. I am going to take on all the responsibilities of late night feedings to the baby's first steps. I'll be there for the small moments and the big moments, just like I was with Shawn. I'm going to be a good father to this baby, to our baby. Okay?
Hope: Ohhh (in pain)
Bo: Friar, marry us, NOW! It's okay, breathe (to Hope).
Pastor: Do you Bo take Hope . .
Bo: I do, I do, believe me I do. Hope this one's peaked (looking at his watch, timing contractions). Ask her quick, ask her!
Pastor: Do you Hope take Bo to be your lawful wedded husband, to love and cherish from this day forward. . . . .
Hope: Yes, Yes, Yes, oh God.
Dr. Bader: You have to push Hope, the head is crowning, give me a push, come'on!
Bo: You can do it!
Pastor: By the power vested in my I know pronounce you husband and wife.
Hope: Yeaaaaaaaaa (pushing).
Baby: Waaaaaaaaaaa!
Wedding #3 (Vow Renewal from August, 7th)
Hope: "Twenty-four years have gone but you know what? I look into your eyes and I see the man I fell in love with when I was just a girl, the man who never fails to surprise me, even now. The man who makes my heart flutter with just a look or a touch, and he drives me absolutely insane with the way he does things but then I remember that was one of the reasons I fell in love with him. Always honesty and integrity you've always had the courage to follow your heart and trust in me. What I'm trying to say… you're my hero. You've always been my hero and I know that whatever lies ahead we’ll be together, we'll stand by each other to you my soul mate my partner my husband. I love you Brady, I love you."
Bo: "I still want only you and need only you. I don't deserve you and I thank God that you're standing by my side and that you stay by my side even when that's not easy to do. Your belief and your faith in me has made me the man I am today. A man I can be proud of even when that's not so easy to do."
Even though they’ve broken up and remarried several times, Bo and Hope are in as much love as when they first met over twenty years ago. And lets face it, if they hadn’t broken up, we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy them getting back together and remarrying so many times!

They’ve certainly been through a lot over the last couple of decades, but through it all, Bo and Hope remain the heart of Days of Our Lives. They’ve dealt with presumed deaths, dual identities, births of three children, the sad death of their son, and even other lovers, but Bo and Hope can always be counted on to come back to each other.
So after their vow renewal on Days of our Lives last week, we decided to piece together all of Bo and Hope’s weddings and share their vows to each other with you.
The following is the letter Hope wrote to Bo on their wedding day:
Dear Bo:
I’m writing this letter to you on the morning of our wedding. I’m going to put it away in a special place, and one day, years from now, I’ll show it to you. Gran gave me the idea. She wrote a letter to grandpa on their wedding day. She wrote all of her feelings, her hopes, and dreams, so that one day they could look back and remember how their life together began. I want us to do that too. As I write, I’m looking into the future, to that day when you finally read this. What will we be like? How will we feel when that day finally arrives? I’ll be leaving for the church in a little while. I’ll take your hand and pledge my love to you for all eternity. I’m so excited, so happy. And yes, a little frightened. But mostly I’m filled with this incredible emotion that wells up inside me. It overflows and reaches every part of me, giving me
such joy, such happiness. It’s such a wonderful emotion…I’m not sure what to call it. A little word like love doesn’t seem big enough to describe it. But I guess there is no other word. So in the end I’m right back where I started…with no word to truly express the depth of my love, the joy of my emotion, the certainty of my commitment. I just want you to know that on this day, and every day thereafter, I will thank God for you. And I will love you from the bottom of my heart, from the depths of my soul, forever.
Love,
Hope
Wedding #1 (in England, 1985)
Bo: “Hope, I know it’s taken us a long time to get here. We even thought at times that we wouldn’t. I know I had my doubts. I never thought I could have someone in my life that could make me so happy or make me feel so alive. You know how hard it is for me to tell people how
I feel about them, especially people I care about. But today in front of all these people, I have no problem telling you that I love you. I know our lives aren’t going to be sunshine and roses from here on in, but I’m going to try my hardest to keep our love alive. We’ve got something very special here. It’s worth fighting for. I love you Hope.”
Hope: “Oh, Bo, I fell in love with you the first time I saw you but it’s taken all that time to realize that what I felt then is nothing compared to what I feel now. Remember what we said to each other in New Orleans- “True love is the gift which God hath given to man alone beneath the heavens. The silver link, the silver tie, in heart to heart, and mind to mind, in body and in soul can bind ‘. I was pretty young when I met you and I’d get so mad when you’d call me “Little One”. But knowing you and loving you has made me a woman and I am your woman Bo. Standing here in front of all these people, I give you my life and all my love through all eternity. Oh, Bo I love you and I’m so proud to be your wife.”
(The poem Hope refers to is from “The Lay of the Last Minstrel” written by Sir Walter Scott. Hope received the book of poetry that was formerly Shawn’s on her 18th birthday. Caroline also read this poem at their vow renewal in 2008, but said it was Alice’s for Tom.)
Wedding #2 (in the Hospital while Hope is giving birth to Zach, 2000)
Pastor: I’d like to think of this as a renewal of your vows, in the eyes of the church you are still married…
Bo: With all due respect could we cut to the chase!
Pastor: By all means, you wanted to recite your own vows – correct?
Bo: Yeah, that’s right. Hope we have loved each other for so long, I don’t remember a time where I didn’t need you in my life to complete my life. So many things have come between us for so long and here we are vowing our love and commitment to one another, we made it Fancy Face. Our love cut through all that stuff and here we our with our son vowing our…
Hope: (screeching in pain) and another baby on the way.
Bo: Yeah and another on…
Hope: Another baby.
Bo: (noticing he should rush) I Bo Brady take you Hope Williams to be my love, my soul mate and my wife. I promise to love, honor and cherish…(rush pause) you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health and in labor pains and as our family grows. I will be your loving and devoted husband for all the days of our lives!… (Hope is smiling in pain) Ahh, It’s your turn Fancy Face!
