His former onscreen wife Judi Evans (ex-Adrienne) may be up for a Daytime Emmy, but Wally Kurth’s (ex-Justin) recently produced documentary, “Class C” was just awarded the Best Sports Action film at the Jackson Hole Film Festival, as well as The Big Sky Award at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival.

According to the film’s website, “Class C” is a feature length documentary that “follows five basketball teams from Montana’s smallest schools on their journey to win the championship. Montana native and basketball legend Phil Jackson brings insight and humor to the disappearing landscapes of his youth in a story that will change the way you see rural America.” Hailing from Montana himself, Kurth not only produced, but also narrarated the film, which was directed by Justin Lubke and Shasta Grenier.

Fans of Kurth, or small town basketball, can catch “Class C” at the Provincetown Film Festival in Massachusetts, which runs through June 22nd. The actor will also be screening his film during the General Hospital Fan Club Weekend on July 12th at the Sportsman Lodge in Studio City, CA.

Aside from working on this acclaimed project, Wally has been popping in and out of Port Charles since 1992 as businessman and musician Ned Ashton on General Hospital. He also enjoyed a short stint as creepy ventriloquist Sam on As the World Turns earlier this year. In addition, Kurth raises money for various health and educational organizations through his band Kurth & Taylor.

Wally played Justin Kiriakis (Victor’s nephew) on Days from 1987-1991. Justin definitely had some of his uncle’s shady blood running through his veins, but eventually turned things around after falling in love with Adrienne Johnson. Overcoming several obstacles, including Uncle Victor, affairs, illegal dealings, impotency and a fake pregnancy, the angst ridden couple adopted two children, conceived one of their own and raised Justin’s son by Angelica Deveraux. After making peace with Victor, Justin and Adrienne left Salem to start their own construction company in Texas. While Adrienne returned to Salem last year to help Steve regain his memory and run the Cheatin’ Heart, her husband Justin hasn’t been seen onscreen in over a decade.

Soaps.com thinks it’s high time Justin returns to Salem in order to give his cousin Philip a few pointers on dealing with Victor and the family business! In the meantime, we’d like to congratulate Wally on his success with “Class C” and hope to seem him on our daytime screens again soon.
