Higley gone.

Soaps.com has confirmed with an NBC rep and our sources about Soap Opera Network and Daytime Confidential’s earlier reports that Dena Higley, the controversial Head Writer of “Days of our Lives,” has been fired.

A veteran of Daytime, Higley originally began working with “Days” in 1985. She has been in various writing positions with the show since then, but also spent time as Head Writer of ABC soap “One Life To Live.” Her firing follows on the heels of her former co-Head Writer, Christopher Whitesell. They shared writing duties since 2008.
