Fans who have been missing Bryan Dattilo won’t have to wait much longer to see him back on the scene as the actor will be making a brief return to Days of Our Lives. As we all know, Lucas is currently serving a sentence in Statesville for kidnapping Sami but with all that’s going on surrounding his mother Kate, as well as Marlena and Kayla, a few Salemites are going to be paying him a visit.

In the Thursday, January 5, recap, Kate, who had just had tests run due to her latest setback, had left the pub and headed off to Statesville to see her son, but Lucas will have more in store than just a visit from his mom.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Dattilo talked about his daytime return and how the character will look a little different than the last time viewers saw him. “It was fun to grown my hair out and grow a goatee,” he shared. “Lucas doesn’t look very manicured at all. He’s very hippie.”

But that’s not all that has changed about his character… The actor thought it was time to play the part with a different pace, due to the major changes in Lucas’ life. “He has nothing to lose but nowhere to go,” Dattilo explained.

So, who else will we see Lucas interacting with? Since Orpheus is also in Statesville, viewers will get to watch as they “have a nasty run-in” and later see Lucas’ will tested when Orpheus offers him some booze. There will also be some great scenes featuring Lucas, John and Steve. “I got to be a part of the leather jacket crew,” he stated. “It was fun cahooting with them and Lucas getting back to being on the inside with information.”

Dattilo expressed how much he “loved the new angle on the character” and we can’t wait to see him back in the mix of things — long hair, goatee hippie and all! No matter what look he rocks, he’s still a looker in our books, just like some of daytime’s other sexiest leading men of all-time.
