We’ve long known that nobody really dies in Salem, where resurrections are as common as wardrobe changes. Sometimes, however, when Days of Our Lives folks return from the dead, it’s in a more spiritual than corporeal sense. And based on the epic new trailer released by the show in conjunction with its move from NBC to the Peacock streaming service, that would appear to be the case with Marci Miller’s Abigail.

Of course, Abby’s beloved widow Chad has been splitting his time evenly between grieving her loss and attempting to find the person responsible for her murder. (This has led, it’s worth noting, to some truly phenomenal performances from his portrayer, Billy Flynn.) Now, it appears that Chad is finally about to uncover the truth. And while the trailer doesn’t reveal the killer’s identity — hey, a soap has to keep some secrets, right? — it does feature a lovely reunion between the couple who were torn apart by so violent and seemingly senseless an act.

“After all these months of trying to find my killer,” we see Abigail say to her husband, “you finally have. He then pulls her into a kiss, giving “Chabby” fans at least some sense of closure for the couple. (You can check out the entire promo below!)

Sadly, it does not appear that Miller will be returning to the canvas — at least not in the immediate future — for anything more than this ghostly appearance. Chad, meanwhile, is seen taking a gun from a safe as EJ predicts, “My brother is going to kill… ”

Kill who? Well, the clip conveniently ends before the object of Chad’s revenge is revealed!

Many other things are revealed in the promo, which — based on the Christmas decor spotted in the background of several scenes — teases events which will unfold over the next several months. Unlike the other daytime dramas, Days films up to six months in advance, explaining how they can piece together so far-reaching an ad.
