Biography
Eileen was born and raised in Southern California. She is the daughter of Charlotte, a homemaker, and Richard Davidson, a airplane parts manufacturer. Davidson has been married three times. Her first marriage was to actor Christopher Mayer, her second to Jon Lindstrom (ex-Kevin, General Hospital), and her third, and current marriage is to actor Vince Van Patton, with whom she shares a son, born in 2003, named Jesse.
Eileen has worked in daytime countless years, originating the role of Ashley Abbott on Y&R in 1982 before leaving for a Primetime role in "Broken Badges" in 1989. By 1991, she was enticed into taking the role of Kelly Capwell on "Santa Barbara" and remained there until the show ended i 1993. Next for Eileen was "Days of our Lives," where she started out playing Kristen Blake, and wound up taking on an additional 4 roles, making her the first actress to play 5 parts simultaneously! She left Days in 1998, took a well-deserved year off, and returned to Y&R in 1999 as Ashley once again. In 2006, the show let her go due to lack of storyline, but "The Bold and the Beautiful" snapped up Eileen and Ashley right away. In September 2008, Eileen and her Abbott alter-ego jumped back to Y&R where she signed a long-term contract.
Eileen has a couple of ventures outside of acting as well! She was approached in 2006 by her fashion designer niece, Devon Martt, about joining her in designing fashions and marketing them. This collaboration became "Femmeology". The busy actress is also an author, with her first novel, "Death in Daytime" due out in Fall 2008, and a second book underway with co-writer Bob Randisi.
When Eileen is not working, she enjoys surfing, snowy skies and scuba dives! She also plays piano, paints and enjoys writing. She currently lives in Los Angeles.
