Hold on to your seats, soap fans, it looks like another shake-up is coming to As The World Turns. Soaps.com has learned that The Powers That Be are bringing Craig Montgomery back to Oakdale!

Jon Lindstrom (ex-Kevin Collins/Ryan Chamberlain, General Hospital) is taking over the role! There have been three other Craig’s in Oakdale – Scott Bryce originated the role in the 1980’s, Hunt Block and Jeffrey Meek each put their twist on Craig before Scott Bryce was brought back for a fourth “Craig” in 2007.

When fans last saw Craig, he was off to parts unknown after trying to kill Paul in a car bombing. After losing Meg and his unborn child, Craig has apparently had enough of Oakdale for a while; he implied that he might try to find Johnny. Isn’t it interesting, then, that Dusty is now back in Oakdale and also looking for Johnny?

Could we be headed for another Dueling Daddy’s storyline? Everyone knows that Johnny is biologically Craig’s but most fans – and characters on the show! – agree that it would be better for the kiddo if he were raised by Dusty. Or really anyone other than Craig.

Jon is an accomplished actor. He won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2008. He is no stranger to soap acting, having also appeared on “Generations” and “Santa Barbara”. In case you missed him on the soaps, he has also appeared in films such as “Must Love Dogs” and “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge”.

Jon’s first airdate is slated for December 3, 2008! Congratulations, Jon, and welcome to the show!
